Drug Development
Our current focus in the drug development sector is on specialty pharmaceutical companies. We are looking for companies that have skilled clinical development teams working on progressing drugs with known safety profiles through the regulatory process. Typically these drugs will be reformulations of existing drugs that are being applied towards new indications. We will consider platform companies in which the technology platform has been validated either through pharmaceutical collaborations or compounds in clinical trials. In the tool and instrument area we are only interested in growth stage opportunities run by an experienced management team. Our experience and contacts can help a company chart a successful path and open doors to potential strategic relationships that can add to the ultimate value of our companies.

Medical Devices
We invest in early to late stage medical device technologies. With a lower risk profile than drug development companies, Medical Device companies must still demonstrate a large market with favorable reimbursement. Our experience has been that successful device technologies will improve patient outcomes and/or reduce the cost of care, or increase physician efficiency. Again, experience in managing the FDA process is an important component of the management teams in which we invest. IP barriers are also a prerequisite. Our team has experience in the full life cycle of a medical device technology; from the perspective of the entrepreneur / inventor to that of late stage investor. This breadth of experience is invaluable to our medical device portfolio companies as they pursue future funding rounds, FDA strategies, and distribution alternatives.

Healthcare Services
We invest in mid to later stage growth equity opportunities in the healthcare service area. The company must provide a service (usually combined with some technology) that improves patient outcomes at a lower cost, and must be able to show an adequate stable reimbursement profile. Our team has extensive hands-on experience in growing healthcare service companies including Hospice, Home Healthcare, LTC, ALF, LTAC, Acute Care, Wound Care, Disease Management, Part B and general supply chain services.
